Mandala tattoos in Delhi
A mandala tattoo is a circular design that repeats outward from a centre point. Jaivik Tattoo draws custom mandalas in black, grey or colour, sized for anything from a wrist to a full back.

What is a mandala tattoo?
Mandala means circle in Sanskrit, and the form appears in Hindu and Buddhist art as a sacred diagram. In tattoos, it is valued for its balance and for how many details can be placed inside one shape. The photo above shows a colour mandala on the upper back with a small hamsa hand beneath it.
Designs that suit it
- The upper back, centred between the shoulder blades
- The shoulder or the thigh, where the circle can sit whole
- The sternum or between the collarbones
- The back of the hand or the wrist, in a small version
- Half mandalas that wrap around an elbow or a shoulder
Size, detail and colour
Decide first whether you want black and grey or colour, and how dense the pattern should be. Fine, dense mandalas need space, so a palm-sized circle will hold less detail than a hand-sized one. You can ask for personal elements inside the pattern, such as a lotus, an Om, a flower you like or a symbol that matters to you.

Healing and aftercare
Colour mandalas fade in strong sun, so cover the area outdoors and use sunscreen once healed.

Questions people ask
Can a mandala tattoo include an Om or a lotus?
Yes. Symbols are often placed at the centre or woven into the petals. Tell us what you want at the centre and the rest is designed around it.
What size should a mandala tattoo be?
It depends on the detail. A wrist piece can be small and simple, while a dense pattern needs a larger area, such as the back or thigh.
Is a mandala tattoo a good first tattoo?
It can be, because the design is symmetrical and personal elements are easy to add. Starting with a smaller version is also an option.
